Directing Greywater to Planter or Septic

Installation of a 3 way valve to direct gray water from the bathroom sink, shower and washer to either the gray water planter or to the septic.

  1. I can see the use of this for maintenance issues to the grey water planter.
    However, I would think that an overflow at the end of the line to the Black
    water would take care of too much grey water & to prevent an overflow
    situation onto the floor.

    Just my 2 cents…LOL

  2. So, the overflow to the grey water cell. How do you intend to keep sewer
    gasses out and keep it clear to allow for an overflow? Thanks for all the
    great vids!!

  3. Proper plumbing grade is only recommended as; 1/4 inch in 2 feet. Keeping
    the grade shallow makes the liquid carry the solids along better.and elbows
    down will collect solids on the start of the curve down so if that can’t be
    avoided, put a clean-out to access the spot for future maintence.

    Why not add a push-pull rod to the handle of the valve without cawing under
    the lazy-sisan…but. 1Timby has a good idea there too ! 

  4. yea, seems like you would want a p trap anywhere the grey feeds into the
    black to block gas coming into the grey or you will have very stinky drains
